Eavesdrop on Cheney without a Warrant
Sat Feb 11, 2006 at 09:48:02 AM PDT
Bob Cesca over at Huffington Post has come up with a very innovative idea. It has been well established over the past few days that Vice President Cheney:
a) Authorized the leaking of classified National Security Documents.
b) Actively participated, and often spearheaded, the effort to discredit Joe Wilson, and authorized leaking classified information that led to the outing of Valerie Plame.
Cheney Plamegate Connection! More Evidence..
Fri Feb 10, 2006 at 08:03:36 AM PDT
Alongside the excellent piece by
Murray Waas yesterday, there was another breaking story by
Jason Lepold which directly connects Cheney to the carefully orchestrated effort to discredit Wilson.
First the blatant lie, on Sept. 14th 2003 in Meet the Press:
"I don't know Joe Wilson," Cheney said, in response to Russert, who quoted Wilson as saying there was no truth to the Niger uranium claims. "I've never met Joe Wilson. And Joe Wilson - I don't who sent Joe Wilson. He never submitted a report that I ever saw when he came back ... I don't know Mr. Wilson. I probably shouldn't judge him. I have no idea who hired him."
Breaking..It was Cheney All Along!
Thu Feb 09, 2006 at 10:40:54 AM PDT
National Journal's Murray Waas is reporting that it was Cheney and other Senior White House Officials (who gets more Senior than Cheney...Dubya Himself) who authorized Libby to leak classified information.
Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis (Scooter) Libby, testified to a federal grand jury that he had been "authorized" by Cheney and other White House "superiors" in the summer of 2003 to disclose classified information to journalists to defend the Bush administration's use of prewar intelligence in making the case to go to war with Iraq, according to attorneys familiar with the matter, and to court records.
A Shameful Act--Open Thread to the President!
Mon Dec 19, 2005 at 12:07:33 PM PDT
In Today's Press Conference, President Bush had the following to say:
"It was a shameful act for someone to disclose this important program in a time of war. The fact that we're discussing this program is helping the enemy,"
I was tempted to list all the shameful acts that this administration has deliberately employed to further its agenda. But it would be redundant for the Kossacks.
Insularity of the Bush Administration
Thu Nov 24, 2005 at 11:38:46 AM PDT
We all have our laundry list of complaints and criticisms about the Bush Administration and its policies--both domestic and foreign. Being a consummate liberal, I also feel that much of the criticism leveled against this administration is not entirely undeserving. I also concede that there is a strong element of bias in my view, so much so that anytime a republican opens his mouth these days; I am constantly looking for opportunities to criticize them rather than listen to them.
Ouch! Delay's dirty tricks might come back to bite him in the a***
Mon Nov 07, 2005 at 02:17:53 PM PDT
Hat tip to the
inimitable Josh Marshall for this story.
Surely you remember all the shenanigans that Delay and his gang orchestrated in Texas to redraw the state's congressional districts to blatantly favor the Republicans. A little (and comical) unintended consequence of such action was that it meant, "watering down the GOP vote in any one district, including his own."
Rove's Security Clearance
Sat Nov 05, 2005 at 08:22:50 PM PDT
Ever wondered, what are the circumstances under which the security clearance is revoked?
LA Times sheds some light on tolerance for any VIOLATIONS by those holding security clearance.
Matthews: Glitter of Nobility
Thu Oct 27, 2005 at 03:18:58 PM PDT
On at least 2 occasions in the recent past, Chris Matthews has used the phrase "glitter of nobility" in describing Bush.
Transcript from last evening's Hardball episode:
MATTHEWS: Let me go to the question--and somebody criticized me for saying it. And maybe you will right now, Bob, but there are occasions where this president has shown the glitter of nobility.
Memo to Future Liberal Panelists About Plamegate--PART 1
Wed Oct 26, 2005 at 10:34:12 AM PDT
Barring any unforseen or unexpected developments, it looks increasingly likely that Rove, Libby + some of their cronies will get indicted by this week or next.
Some of you will be invited to participate in talk-shows to debate the events leading upto the indictments, the indictment process, the indictment itself, and its implications for this administration.
Breaking! June 23rd meeting between Miller and Libby!
Thu Oct 20, 2005 at 08:14:41 PM PDT
The Inimitable
Murray Waas has another expose. We all know by now that both Libby and Miller lied about the June 23rd meeting. And, if were to believe published accounts and MSM talking points, Miller remembered about the June 23rd meeting after seeing her notes. She said so in an interview with
WSJ.
In a brief telephone interview yesterday, Ms. Miller said she discovered the June 2003 notes in her office after being prompted to seek out answers to another question Mr. Fitzgerald had asked her. "There was an open question about something, and I said I would go back and look and see if there was anything in my notes that would address that question," she said yesterday.
WRONG!. She was caught lying, again!
MSM--Sounds Pathetic when blaming the White House!
Wed Oct 19, 2005 at 08:08:58 PM PDT
I read
Isikoff and Hosenball's latest article on how the White House Manipulated the Media. The article in insightful in how this administration deliberately manipulated the information to build up the case for the war against Iraq. They start the article by stating:
Oct. 19, 2005 - The lengthy account by New York Times reporter Judy Miller about her grand jury testimony in the CIA leak case inadvertently provides a revealing window into how the Bush administration manipulated journalists about intelligence on Iraq's nonexistent weapons of mass destruction.
Harriet Miers--Strict or Liberal Interpreter of the Constitution!
Thu Oct 06, 2005 at 09:48:40 PM PDT
Much has been written about the brouhaha ensuing from Harriet Miers Nomination to the Supreme Court. There is one thing Republicans and Democrats seem to agree--there is little we know about her.
eriposte @ Left Coaster has stepped up to the challenge and has compiled the most comprehensive set of information I have seen on Harriet Miers. I would highly recommend interested Kossacks to read that post.
More trouble for Delay from UK!

Hat tip to Raw Story
Maggie Thatcher is apparently involved in this intricate web of political favors leading to economic gain.
Prince of Darkness "Novak" Losing it!
Thu Sep 22, 2005 at 01:11:34 PM PDT
Hat tip to
Steve Soto .
Prince of Darkness Bob Novak reports that Bush Loyalists and Elites are beginning to turn on the President for his abysmal record on Iraq, Stem Cell, Economy, Katrina....(the list goes on). This come from a conference organized by New York investment firm Forstmann Little & Co in Aspen. Apparently there was prolific Bush Bashing, and as Novak puts it "The connecting link was hostility to Bush."
Duh! What took these dudes so long?
Bush's Blissful (or Fatal) Ignorance!
Wed Sep 14, 2005 at 08:23:49 PM PDT
Is Bush in a bubble where contrarian views (to the administrations's position...not reality) are simply unacceptable? In
President Bush: Living Too Much in the Bubble? Time reports he has become dangerously isolated from reality.
The President's Increasing Isolation: A related factor, aides and outside allies concede, is what many of them see as the President's increasing isolation. Bush's bubble has grown more hermetic in the second term, they say, with fewer people willing or able to bring him bad news--or tell him when he's wrong. A youngish aide who is a Bush favorite described the perils of correcting the boss. "The first time I told him he was wrong, he started yelling at me," the aide recalled about a session during the first term. "Then I showed him where he was wrong, and he said, `All right. I understand. Good job.' He patted me on the shoulder. I went and had dry heaves in the bathroom."
Bush Era--Coming to an End!
Tue Sep 13, 2005 at 05:24:56 PM PDT
E.J. Dionne Jr. from Washington Post has a scathing op-ed piece on the current status and future of this administration. In short, he states that this marks the
End of the Bush Era!
The Bush Era is over. The sooner politicians in both parties realize that, the better for them -- and the country.
Michael Brown--More Explosive Revelations!
Mon Sep 12, 2005 at 10:13:52 PM PDT
Michael Brown's background and consequent lack of experience in any form of emergency management has been well documented. Also, what has been documented is that he got the job as the Director of FEMA because he was a friend of friend.
Anything else? Did he have any role to play in the re-election of Geoorge Bush? Seems like there is a deeper connection between Bush and Brown.
White House Scared to Death of Black Victims!
Sat Sep 10, 2005 at 06:17:30 PM PDT
NY Times published a story today that offers some insight into the White House response to Katrina and Brown.
